What Makes Tulsa Concrete Different

Built for How Tulsa Homes Actually Work

Concrete work in Tulsa comes with its own set of real, practical considerations — here's what we plan around on every project.

01

Clay Soil Moves

Tulsa's expansive clay swells when it's wet and shrinks when it dries, and that movement is what cracks most driveways and patios. We dig out, compact a proper base, and reinforce the slab so it stays put.

02

Cracks Belong in the Joints

All concrete cracks eventually. Control joints cut at the right spacing and depth tell it where to crack, so you get clean, straight lines instead of random spiderwebs across your driveway.

03

Ice Storms and De-Icers

Oklahoma's ice storms and the salt that comes with them can make a concrete surface flake and pit. The right mix, proper finishing, and a good sealer help your concrete make it through winter after winter.

04

Summer Pours Take Planning

Tulsa summer heat can dry concrete too fast and weaken the surface. We schedule pours for the cooler part of the day and cure the slab properly, so it reaches its full strength.

Common Questions

Concrete FAQ

Why did my old driveway crack so badly?

In Tulsa, it's usually the soil. Expansive clay moves with the weather, and if the base under a slab wasn't properly prepared or the concrete wasn't reinforced, it cracks and sinks. That's why we spend so much of the job on what's under the concrete.

How long before I can drive on new concrete?

You can usually walk on it after a day or two, but give it about a week before driving on it with a regular car, and longer for anything heavy. We'll give you specific timing for your pour.

Can you fix concrete instead of replacing it?

Sometimes. Small cracks can be sealed, and damaged sections can be cut out and replaced. If the slab has failed across most of its area, replacing it is usually the better investment, and we'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.

Should I seal my concrete?

We recommend it, especially in Oklahoma. A good sealer helps protect against de-icing salt, freeze-thaw damage, and stains. Resealing every few years keeps it working.

How long does a concrete project take?

Most driveways and patios take a few days from excavation to pour, plus curing time before heavy use. Weather can shift the schedule, and we'll keep you updated if it does.

What areas do you serve?

Tulsa and the surrounding area, including Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, Bixby, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Glenpool, Coweta, Claremore, Skiatook, and Catoosa.
